Overview

Hardened against the paths that matter

Most environments are not compromised through a novel technique. They are compromised through a misconfigured role, a secret in a repository, or a trust relationship nobody remembered was there.

We review your cloud environments, infrastructure, and development pipeline from the position of an attacker who has already gained a foothold, looking for the paths that lead somewhere.

Cloud and Infrastructure

Identity, access, and exposure

The most common finding in cloud environments is not a vulnerability in a vendor's software. It is a permission that was never intended to exist.

Cloud Security Assessment

AWS, Azure, GCP

Active Directory and Entra ID Security

Identity plane review

Container and Kubernetes Security

Cluster hardening and runtime review

Segmentation and Lateral Movement Review

East-west exposure

Configuration and Hardening Baselines

CIS, vendor, and custom baselines

Secure Development

Security that ships with the code

Controls that are reviewed into the process hold. Controls added at the end of a release cycle do not.

Application Security Review

Web, mobile, desktop

Secure Code and Architecture Review

Source-level analysis

Threat Modeling

Before and during development

AI and LLM Application Testing

Prompt injection, data exposure, model abuse

Process

How an engagement runs

The shape varies by engagement type, but the sequence is the same.

  1. 1

    Scoping

We agree the environment, the access level, and what we are trying to answer. Cloud reviews, identity reviews, and application reviews each have a distinct shape, and the scope determines which is right.

  2. 2

    Access and Credentials

Read-only access to the environments, repositories, or build systems in scope. For cloud assessments this is usually a read-only IAM role. We document what we have been given and work only within it.

  3. 3

    Review

The work itself. For cloud and infrastructure this is configuration analysis and privilege path enumeration. For development it is code review, architecture analysis, and testing against the running application.

  4. 4

    Reporting

Findings presented with the attack path that leads to each one, the impact in your environment, and remediation guidance for the team that owns the system.

  5. 5

    Debrief and Remediation Support

A walkthrough with the engineers who own the systems and an open line during remediation for questions on specific findings.

Deliverable

What you receive

Every engagement includes the following.

  • Findings with the attack path that leads to each one
  • Impact assessment specific to your environment
  • Remediation guidance for the team that owns each system
  • Debrief session with engineers and administrators
  • Remediation support during the fix period

Questions

Common questions

Do you need production access?

For cloud assessments, read-only access to the live environment gives the most accurate results. For code review, access to the repository is sufficient. We agree the minimum required before anything begins.

We already pass our compliance audits. Is there still value?

Compliance audits are written around a minimum floor. A review from an attacker's perspective asks a different question: given everything that passes your audit, what can an attacker still do? The two answers are rarely identical.

Can you review infrastructure managed by a third party?

With the right access and authorization from the third party, yes. We are often brought in to review environments managed by MSPs or cloud providers on behalf of the organization that owns the data.

What is the output for a DevSecOps engagement?

A review of the pipeline and dependency posture with findings ranked by the risk each one carries. For organizations earlier in the journey, this includes a recommended set of controls and the order to implement them.
